Submissions
Career Hell accepts original, career-related submissions for publication on our website. Articles must be submitted via e-mail to submissions@careerhell.com with the category of submission (see categories below) as the subject of the e-mail.
Please include your contact information and occupation, and specify if you would like your submission published anonymously or under your name or pseudonym. Should your submission be published, we will optionally publish a link to your website in an ‘about the author’ section, which will appear as follows:
John Smith is a freelance web designer. You can read his blog Career Hell at www.careerhell.com
All text submissions must not exceed the designated word count and should be pasted into the email itself. (Please do not send attachments.) For additional guidelines, please refer to the following categories:
Stories:
Tell us your work stories in 500 words or less. The only requirements are that they be original and career-related—let your creative juices flow!
Articles:
Career Hell articles should be original, thought-provoking pieces of 1,000 words or less on career-related topics. We welcome all article styles, including investigative reporting, social commentary, historical essays and smart, fact-based humor.
Visuals:
We accept graphic submissions in the form of original career-related comics, humorous graphs and charts, etc. Please submit only gif, jpg, pdf or tif under 2 MB. Attachments in any other format and attachments that exceed 2 MB will not be considered.
While the editors will attempt to preserve the author’s voice whenever possible, Career Hell reserves the right to edit all articles accepted for publication for space and clarity according to Career Hell’s style. Once published at Career Hell, the submitted piece will become part of Career Hell’s archives, and we reserve the right to republish the article at any time in any Career Hell related publication on the web or any other medium.
At this time, we cannot offer payment for submissions. (We are, however, currently working on ideas for monthly prizes and other incentives for our freelancers.) We can offer credit for your article, including a link to your website.
Remember, these must be original works written by you. By submitting your content to Career Hell, you are giving license to Career Hell to publish your work in this or any other medium without compensation.
